Elizabeth Montgomery was born on April 15, 1933, in Los Angeles, California. She was the daughter of famous Hollywood actor Robert Montgomery and Broadway actress Elizabeth Bryan Allen. Montgomery’s parents divorced when she was just six years old, and she spent most of her childhood with her mother.
Montgomery began her acting career in 1951, appearing in small roles in various TV shows and movies. In 1964, she landed the role that would make her a household name: Samantha Stephens in the TV series “Bewitched.”
