She began her career as a backup dancer for popular artists such as Janet Jackson, Pink, and Missy Elliott. In 2006, she landed her breakthrough role in the dance film Step Up, where she met her future husband, Channing Tatum.

After Step Up, Jenna went on to appear in numerous films and television shows, including American Horror Story: Asylum, The Resident, and The Witches of East End. She also served as a judge on the reality competition show World of Dance from 2017 to 2019.
